Encourage One Another Daily

It’s so important that we surround our lives with encouragement. God’s Word tells us that we need encouragement daily. Are you getting that dose of encouragement? Are your friends encouraging toward you? Do you listen to encouraging messages on the radio or the computer? Do you read encouraging blogs? Are you being encouraged in your walk with God? Do you belong to a small group that has committed to encourage one another daily?

Encourage One Another Daily

If not, you’re missing out on one of God’s gifts of grace. I think you’ll notice a big change in your life if you become proactive and seek some encouragement each day. It’s so easy to fall into a place of discouragement and even despair. It’s so tempting to feel overwhelmed by the tasks ahead.

Over and over we see in the New Testament how important encouragement is. Paul is always sending someone to encourage a group of believers. He talks a great deal about being encouraged. Certainly being a Christian in those times necessitated encouragement. I believe being a homeschooler also necessitates encouragement.

When we allow ourselves to be encouraged, we gain “courage” to face the future and all we must do to successfully educate our kids and bless others. We begin to lift up our eyes to the hills from whence comes our help, and we fix our eyes on Jesus—the One who gives us strength. We are then able to see greater purpose in our lives. Encouragement gives us hope for what lies ahead. Rather than drown in fear and worry about our children’s weaknesses and our failings, we can be excited about the future and all God has for us and our family.

Through encouragement, we overcome despair, discouragement, and fear.

The Lord tells us more than 365 times in His word not to fear. He wants you to be of good courage—to be confident—for He promises to fulfill His purposes and His great plans for you and your children.

Seek out friends, websites, radio programs, podcasts, blogs and people that will build you up. Receive encouragement each day and then give it away to others.

Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing. 1 Thessalonians 5:11

  1. What a blessing to read this. It’s a good reminder that I should be a blessing to others through encouragement. The flip side of that, of course, is to make sure I am receiving the encouragement, too. What will be left to pour out if I am not filled up?

Thank you for the reminder, Jeannie.

  2. Thank you for this reminder, it is something I’ve been working on for awhile. I realize how often I parent out of “fear”…meaning, if I see an ungodly characteristic in one of my kids, I suddenly go into fear mode, putting myself way into the future, worrying about what ifs and their future, thinking they will always make poor choices, etc. etc. I realize Satan wants me to fear and not trust God with my kids and their future and our homeschooling.

I get bogged down with fear that I’m not doing everything right, that I should be doing MORE. UGh…..the list goes on and on.

BUT…God doesn’t want me to live my life like that. Thankfully, I’m learning that this year, and overcoming the fear.

Thanks for the reminder and tips.
