Homeschooling on Purpose for God's Purpose

I’m filled with awe and wonder when I consider that my children were chosen by God before the foundation of the world. That each was distinctly fashioned with specific gifts, talents, abilities, interests, passions, dislikes, and preferences.

Each was created for a particular purpose—a purpose God ordained in advance that they should pursue.

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10

God created our children on purpose for a purpose.

As homeschool moms, we’ve been called to train and nurture our children. Throughout our homeschool days, we have the privilege of helping them develop their gifts and discover the wonderful plans God has for their lives.

If God was so intentional in creating our children unique for a special call, should we not be homeschooling on purpose for His purpose?

GOD WILL BE OUR GUIDE

God promises to guide and direct us as we educate our children. He promises to give us wisdom and strength as we rise to face each new day. Why should we ever wring our hands in anxiety over the decisions and choices that affect our children? God is for us and for our homeschool, and He isn’t going to leave us to figure everything out on our own.

I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. Psalm 32:8

With God almighty on our children’s side, who or what could possibly stand against them? They are His—marked out as His chosen, beloved children!

WE CAN WALK IN PEACE

We can rest in God’s plans and purposes for our children. We need not strive, stress, or worry. We can walk in confidence and peace, offering our children a life giving, well-watered homeschool experience.

And the LORD will continually guide you, And satisfy your desire in scorched places, And give strength to your bones; And you will be like a watered garden, And like a spring of water whose waters do not fail. Isaiah 58:11

Seek God’s purposes for your homeschool and for your children.

Listen for His voice and trust His gentle counsel. Don’t doubt the direction He gives. Simply let Him lead.

Then follow.

Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, “I am the LORD your God, who teaches you to profit, Who leads you in the way you should go." Isaiah 48:17
