Homeschooling with Purpose

It fills me with awe and wonder that each of our children was chosen by God before the foundation of the world. Each was created for a particular purpose- a purpose God ordained in advance that they should pursue. Our children are all unique, created with different gifts, talents, abilities, interests, passions, dislikes, and preferences. All of these characteristics make them the wonderful children He intended them to be. As parents we're called to train and nurture our children, helping them develop their gifts and discover the wonderful purpose God has for them.If God was so intentional in creating them unique with a special call, should we not be homeschooling with purpose?

Homeschooling with Purpose

God promises to guide and direct us as we educate our children. He promises He will lead us. If He has a purpose for our children (and He does) why should we ever wring our hands in anxiety over the decisions and choices that affect them? God isn't going to leave us to figure it out on our own. If He is for them, who or what could possibly stand against them? They are His! Marked out as God's chosen, beloved children. We can rest in His plans and purposes for them. We need not strive, stress, or worry.

Seek God's purposes for your homeschool and children. Listen for His voice and trust His gentle counsel. Don't doubt the direction He gives. Simply let Him lead.

And the LORD will continually guide you, And satisfy your desire in scorched places, And give strength to your bones; And you will be like a watered garden, And like a spring of water whose waters do not fail. Isaiah 58:11

I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. Psalm 32:8

Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, "I am the LORD your God, who teaches you to profit, Who leads you in the way you should go." Isaiah 48:17
